Kakuozan Fruits Daifuku Benzaiten is founded in the neighbourhood of Kakuozan, Nagoya. Nagoya is the origin where it gained popularity for its premium, aesthetically stunning pillowy soft fruit-filled mochi. It also has multiple locations across Tokyo and Osaka.
The Daifuku is wrapped with soft, thin and chewy skin, together with lightly sweetened white bean paste and seasonal premium whole fruits. The fruits are delivered fresh daily from the market and different types of fruits will be send depending on the seasons.
The signature Daifuku is always the strawberry but they do have seasonal fruits like shine muscat, persimmons, kiwi, mikan, mango, watermelon and etc. Each Daifuku is wrapped individually for easy handling and perfect as gift-boxed too. Additionally, every gift box comes with a string to slice the Daifuku into half, making it easier to share.
Other than Daifuku, Kakuozan also famous for their peanuts and sesame mochi. The mochi is extra chewy in texture and extremely peanuty/sesame fragrant filling that bursts in the mouth. So good! Definitely a big must for me to get it back home every time when I came across with it. Super addictive. The peanuts/sesame fillings are not too sweet to my liking too.
ごちそうさまでした. Thank you for the foods! It is definitely a little sweet treat to enjoy after a long day out visiting in Japan. Also, both Daifuku and peanut/sesame mochi are definitely perfect to bring home as a gift/souvenir !
