Tokyo 東京: Gyoku Dried Sardines Ramen 煮干し らーめん玉 東京駅店 || Tokyo Station 東京駅

Tokyo Niboshi Gyoku Ramen: Famous for the rich flavour of its several dried sardines soup base

After we reached Tokyo station, we went straight for ramen to fill up our little hungry tummy at Gyoku ramen shop as the queue was shorter compare to the other ramen shop. Gyoku ramen is located at the first avenue basement (a little ramen street) in Tokyo station.

The little ramen street of Tokyo station is often packed with long queues. Every ramen shop here has its own specialty and something to be famous for. There are about 8 ramen shops in this little ramen street during my last visit in Oct 2019. There are still lots of other eateries shop other than just ramen shops at first avenue basement.

Batsugun niboshi ramen 拔群煮干し (1070yen) is a dried sardines soup-based type of ramen. It was packed with umaminess in the soup broth as the soup broth bases are made separately then combined. The soup is made with a pork bone base and a dried sardine base separately and then blended together. This limited serving ramen is available at Gyoku ramen store exclusively for the ramen street branch in Tokyo station only. Please try it out.

While Sarari さらり ramen (810yen) is a soy-sauce based ramen which comes in sweet and light soup broth, make it easy to drink.
Niku Karashi 肉辛 ramen (1140yen) is a spicy with meat ramen.
Tokusei torori 味とろり soba (970yen) is their in-house specially made ramen with the best flavour and most toppings. The soup of this ramen is made combined together with several types of boiled dried fish soup base and chicken paitan soup base for a super rich & thick flavoured broth which is known as the "golden ratio of chicken and niboshi (boiled dried fish)".
There are lots of toppings to go with like large slices of chashu, seasoned half-boiled egg, seaweed laver and soft shavings of richly aromatic dried bonito flakes. The soup broth was packed with fresh aroma and amazing umaminess. Sooo good.
You can ask for an extra bowl of noodles or rice to put in the left over soup broth as to fully savour & enjoy that richly bowl of soup broth. You will truly be amazed by this bowl of Japanese soup broth. It is one of the famous dish of Tokyo. Please try it!
